2022 Kia Forte, All you want to know about a great car
Kia’s reasonably priced Forte compact sedan arrives updated inside and out for the 2022 model year, and includes the latest Kia badge design and grille treatment. The trim levels have been narrowed down to FE, LXS, GT-Line, and GT, with the EX trim getting the ax. Now offered in only four trims, the 2022 Kia Forte has a sleeker appearance and adds extra safety features as standard.
Across the model range, the 2022 Forte has revised front and rear bumpers, enhanced headlights, and a new trunk lid spoiler. GT and GT-Line models feature triple-stack LED fog lights that seamlessly integrate into the lower air intake grille and a sportier LED taillight design. LXS and GT trims also feature new wheel designs.
Equipment updates include a larger 4.2-inch instrument cluster display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and an available rear USB charging port. The GT and GT-Line gain a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with in-dash navigation and a remote start system. Additionally, the Forte now offers an electronic parking brake with auto hold. Buyers looking for a sporty compact sedan may like the GT-Line, which adds 17-inch wheels, athletic exterior styling, a performance-style steering wheel, and sport seats finished in synthetic leather.
The 2.0-liter I-4 that generates 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque returns as the Forte’s standard engine offering, while the range-topping Forte GT comes powered by a 1.6-liter turbo-four producing 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. FE, LXS, and GT-Line trims are equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), whereas the GT comes with either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or six-speed manual gearbox. Furthermore, the GT also upgrades to a multi-link rear suspension (as opposed to a twist-beam unit).
As of this writing, Kia has not released pricing for the 2022Â Forte. When the car goes on sale remains a mystery, as well, however, we will update this post when such information becomes available.
Kia Forte Expert Review
Despite its attractive design and impressive warranty, the Kia Forte has watched as the rest of the compact sedan segment passed it by. For the 2022 model year, the Forte steps up its game with fresh styling and new driver assist technologies. But a lot hasn’t changed, including the powertrains. For this reason, the 2022 Kia Forte once again plays second fiddle to top rivals like the Honda Civic.
