We’ve already got a good idea of what to expect with the upcoming eleventh-generation 2024 Honda Accord thanks to our design renderings from earlier this year. Now we can see just how accurate we were, as the full design of the next-gen midsize sedan has leaked on a Brazilian government website.

The patent images offer a full 360 degree look at the 2024 Accord in a series of included renderings, and since the patent is just to establish the intended production design, there’s very little actual description given on the Brazilian patent site. However, we can see our prediction of a full light bar for the taillights was accurate, as it’s obvious in these renderings. We can also see that the new Accord will retain the overall simple and clean fastback style design of the current car, simplified even further.

The front clip is clearly somewhat inspired by the latest 2023 Honda CR-V design that was just unveiled in full last week, with a six-pointed grille shape flanked by two flat, long headlights. The overhangs also look slightly long over the front and rear wheels, suggesting the tenth-gen wheelbase will go unchanged, but the overall length could potentially grow, which could translate into more cabin and cargo room. The overall look seems inspired by more-premium models, which could be the direction Honda is attempting to push its legacy sedan.

Since the next Accord will be based on the same platform as the current car, we expect the same powertrain setups to carry over with a few potential tweaks or improvements. That would involve a turbo 1.5-liter I-4 linked to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), or a step up to a turbo 2.0-liter I-4 with a 10-speed automatic. We expect a hybrid version to be available again, linking an electric motor to the 2.0-liter I-4 engine. Front-wheel drive is guaranteed, and it’s unclear if Honda will consider an all-wheel drive version, given its growing popularity and inclusion among competitors.

Now that the new hybrid CR-V has been unveiled in full, we anticipate we’ll get more information regarding the next Accord by the end of the year with the model expected to go into production for the 2024 model year.
