BMW presents the new BMW 3 Series and 3 Series Touring
Redesign, high-end atmosphere, obvious advances in the fields of digitalization and equipment: the new BMW 3 Series is about to write a new chapter in its success story.
Externally, the new 3 Series remains quite classic. When we see some recent achievements of the brand, we will certainly not complain. Inside, we find the BMW Curved Display, a 12.3-inch information screen behind the steering wheel and a control screen with a screen diagonal of 14.9 inches, which merge into a single fully digital and high-resolution unit.
The selection lever of the Steptronic 8-speed gearbox, standard on all models, also has a new (much less manly) design. It is placed in the control panel of the center console with the Start/Stop button, the iDrive Controller, the Driving Experience control buttons, the parking brake and other vehicle functions.
From 150 to 374 hp
The sedan can be ordered in three plug-in hybrid variants (four for the estate). In addition, there are four petrol engines and four four- or six-cylinder diesel engines with possibly a micro-hybridization device. Not to mention the two BMW Performance versions. The power scale therefore ranges from 150 hp to 374 hp. xDrive all-wheel drive is standard on high-end models, but it can also be ordered as an option on some other models
Driving aids
A host of automated driving and parking systems are available. Standard equipment includes Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Speed Limit Display with No Overtaking Indicator, Manual Speed Limit Assist and Lane Departure Warning with Lane Return to Lane.
The launch of the Series 3 and Series 3 Touring is scheduled for July.
