Mazda MX 5: And why not a Shooting Brake?
What if the hunting break became a fashion object again? The illustrator Sugar Design gives us here his vision of the thing, based on an Mazda MX 5 ND. And the least we can say is that the result is sublime.
A hunting station wagon is above all a very pure silhouette, not to say the purest there is. The first model of its kind takes us back to 1964, with the Reliant Scimitar, which will be followed the following year by the Aston Martin DB5.
Closer to home, we also think of the BMW Z3 Coupé. In any case however, few customers are interested in a car with a large trunk, but only 2 doors and as many seats. In other words, for a builder, the financial interest is limited.
But beyond these very down-to-earth considerations, what if we dreamed a little? This is probably what the stylist Sugar Design said to himself when virtually making a Mazda MX-5 hunting station wagon. Whatever the angle from which we look at it, this realization is superb, and even has false airs of Ferrari FF.
And if it were to complement the convertible and targa variants of the MX-5, you would be a taker?
