New Cars A study conducted by the British website determined which European countries had the highest proportion of new vehicles.
With an average of nearly 91 new vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants, Luxembourg proved to be the country with the best new car. Compared to countries with a similar population size, this is almost 3 times more than in Cyprus (32.57 new vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants). This means that almost a quarter (24.50%) of the cars on the road in Luxembourg are less than 2 years old, the highest percentage in Europe. Liechtenstein drivers are the second most likely to own a new car, with 52.47 new cars per 1,000 inhabitants. This is 42% less than in Luxembourg, but 36% more than in their Swiss neighbours (38.53 new cars per 1,000 inhabitants). Clearly, almost 1 in 6 vehicles (14.57%) registered in Liechtenstein is less than 2 years old.Lithuania ranks third with 51.32 new vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants, 77% more than Slovenia of similar size (28.99/1,000). Despite this, Lithuania has the lowest percentage of new vehicles in Europe (1.93%).Vehicle owners in Belgium are the fourth most likely to own the newest cars. In total, there are 47.51 new vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants, a figure 56% higher than the France, which only comes in fourteenth position (30.29 / 1,000).
