Porsche recalls nearly 10,000 Taycans for an electrical beam problem
An electrical beam problem is the basis of a Porsche Taycan recall campaign in the United States. The problem could be solved with… adhesive tape!
The front seats of the Porsche Taycan are very sophisticated. In addition to electric settings, they can be heated, ventilated, or even outright massaging. However, all this requires a lot of electric motors, and even more cables. This is precisely where the origin of this recall campaign lies: on some vehicles produced between October 2, 2019 and May 18, 2021, these beams could be poorly fixed, with the risk of damage when one of the front passengers adjusts his seat horizontally.
However, this deterioration could have consequences on the functioning of safety elements, such as airbags or belt pretensioners.

9,570 Taycan are affected. If the beam is damaged, it will be replaced. Otherwise, it will be enough to better fix it under the seats with a little adhesive tape.
Do not panic, however: for the moment, this recall does not concern models circulating in Europe. If, however, you own a Taycan, nothing prevents you from having your car checked in a workshop of the Porsche network.
