The Secma F16 Turbo changes its look!
Don’t know Secma yet? For nearly 15 years, the French company, then specialized in unlicensed vehicles, has been offering various small ultralight radical sports cars. Its Turbo model, the most efficient, has just undergone a nice makeover.
Developed and produced since 2016 in Aniche, in the North (near Valenciennes), the Secma F16 Turbo is simple: a chassis-beam built on site, a 225 hp turbo engine supplied by Peugeot, a six-speed gearbox, a steering wheel and… that’s about it. This gives one of the most fun machines to drive on the market thanks to its contained weight (670 kg only!) which allows performance worthy of much more powerful sports cars: 4.8 seconds are enough to go from 0 to 100 km / h.
This amazing roadster has just received a brand new front end, presented exclusively to fans at the brand’s annual gathering. We discover a more consensual design than before, all in muscular curves, with a plunging hood to promote the guidance of the air flow. The enlarged fenders topped with slightly prominent lights, and the new LED daytime running lights bring a new personality to this roadster. From 39.600€.
More Info About Secma F16 Turbo
The Secma F16 Turbo, presented at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, is a roadster from the French car manufacturer Secma. It has an increased wheelbase compared to the Secma F16 and is powered by the four-cylinder 1.6-liter petrol of the Peugeot 308 GT. It has a trunk, located at the front, of 200 liters.
Features
It has no fixed roof or solid doors. Removable canvas doors, with a sunroof, are available as an option. A limited slip differential (Torsen type) is offered as an option, offering better traction and a better time at the start-stop.
Its particular design – the steel beam chassis, which includes the gas tank, is topped with a rotomolded polyethylene shell – gives it rigidity and lightness. The benefit of a contained mass – 657 kg – guaranteeing a low consumption allows it to escape the French Co² malus1.
Engines
The engine is peugeot’s 1.6-liter four-cylinder Puretech petrol (EP6FDTX) from the Peugeot 308 GT which develops 205 hp, for 110 kg more than the F16, having a double overhead camshaft with variable timing.
In , Secma offers the Peugeot engine (EP6FADTX) 1.6 liter Puretech with 225 hp and 300 N m of torque.
