Volvo: 5 EuroNCAP stars for the C40 Recharge
The 100% electric Volvo C40 Recharge model has been awarded 5 stars in the latest Euro NCAP tests. It joins the other models in the Volvo range in the list of the safest vehicles on the market.
Launched in 2021, the Volvo C40 Recharge is the manufacturer’s second 100% electric model. With one of the most comprehensive safety offerings in its market segment, the C40 Recharge has been particularly successful in terms of occupant safety and driver assistance systems.
These safety technologies can, among other scenarios, help drivers detect obstacles and avoid collisions, stay in their lane and reduce the consequences of accidental road departure. The scores obtained are 92% for the protection of adults, 89% for the protection of children, 70% for the protection of weak users (not really anything to boast about…) and 89% for driving aids.
Volvo plans to sell only 100% electric vehicles by 2030. By 2025 already, the brand predicts that all-electric vehicles will account for more than half of its global production. In line with its ambition to become a leader in car safety, Volvo also aims to set new standards in this area with its new generation of vehicles.
