Volvo Cars simplifies public charging
Drivers of all-electric Volvo models in Europe now have easier access to a wider choice of public networks for charging their vehicles
Now more functional, the V o l v o Cars app allows drivers to access more than 270,000 charging stations in Europe while having the option to pay for the charge from a single gateway. The V o l v o Cars app tells drivers the location of the nearest public charging station and provides them with real-time information about its availability.
So there is no need to use countless different top-up applications and payment systems. This feature was made possible by the Developers platform and Plugsurfing’s Drive API, which integrates charging information directly into the V o l v o Cars app. Following an initial launch in Switzerland and Italy, Volvo Cars will continue to roll out the updated feature to the majority of its European markets by the end of 2022.
Volvo Cars thus affirms its ambition to offer its customers full and easy access to public charging. And thanks to the new functionality of the V o l v o Cars app, Volvo Electric drivers benefit from special rates when charging their vehicle at Ionity stations in Europe.
