What free games are on the Epic Games Store right now?

PC gamers with an Epic games Store account (it’s free) can pick up Duskers, a suspenseful, keyboard-only roguelite in which players probe derelict spaceships to unravel the mystery behind their abandonment. Duskers is free to download, play, and keep from the Epic games Store, beginning Thursday, Feb. 23.

Duskers, by Misfits Attic, launched in May 2016. Polygon reviewed it favorably, praising its unorthodox command-line interface and the organic progression of its drones. “What’s remarkable about Duskers is just how analog it feels,” Charlie Hall wrote then. “Every system begins to wear out over time, including the ones on your ship and the drones themselves.”

Duskers is available to claim now, but only for the next seven days. Last week’s free game, Warpips, is back in the marketplace at its regular price.

The Epic games Store freebies are available to anyone who has an Epic games Store account; they’ll be added to your library and launched from there. Epic has been giving away free games on a weekly basis, as an inducement to join the store (and play Epic’s own games, such as Fortnite), since it launched in December 2018.

The next free game coming to Epic games Store account-holders will be Rise of Industry, a city-building/management simulation set in the early 1900s in which players try to get in on the ground floor of one of the factories coming out of the Industrial Revolution. Rise of Industry will be available beginning March 2.

When does the Epic games Store update with free games?

Typically, Epic refreshes its lineup of free games every Thursday at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT.
